What are nasal polyps?

Nasal polyps are small sac-like growths that line the nose and are made of inflamed tissue. Nasal polyps start near the ethmoid sinuses and grow into the open areas of the nasal cavity. Large polyps may block the airways leading to respiratory constriction and difficulty breathing.

What are the symptoms caused by nasal polyps?

Common symptoms include nasal construction, mouth breathing, and a runny nose.

What is the treatment for nasal polyps?

Treatment includes medication such as steroids or antibiotics. Severe cases may need surgery such as functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS)
